Shoes for camp

Hi there! I'm excited to take the dance classes. I've only got ballet slippers - should I be investing in jazz shoes and/or character shoes to protect my feet & get the most out of the weekend?

Haven't been to Kosmos yet so I don't know yet what kinds of dance surfaces you can expect but I take a pair of Capazio Dance Sneakers with me to every workshop I attend. The sole is flexible enough to allow you to dance but protects knees, feet and ankles from too hard or rough floors. I highly recommend them!!

A lot of the dances you'll be studying are best done barefoot....but if you'd like to bring shoes, I'd suggest maybe getting some Dance Paws. They're little slip ons that protect the balls of your feet and still let you feel the floor and use it to your advantage. For flamenco, character shoes are helpful....but see if you can get some on sale or borrow some....they're pretty pricey if you buy them new!
      See you in camp!!

last year, on the first day someone crumched my bare foot under their well shod heel, the nail completely broke off one toe and my poor footsie swelled up so much I could only wear flip flops till I got home.

This year I'm bringing shoes for the non-belly dance classes. Although, after hours and hours of dancing expect your feet to swell, so plan accordingly in your shoe choices . . .
